The corn sheller is used to separate the kernels from the cobs by a flexible friction process, which avoids the phenomenon of cracking binding for germination.
The technique used (very gentle) for graining makes it possible to obtain a germination rate identical to that obtained by manual destemming. It minimizes kernel and germ breakage.
The other advantage of this machine is the fact that it can seed very small quantities (5 to 10 kg) to make samples. The feed can be manual or automatic. At the exit, the grains are separated from the stalks by a sorter.
